POST by ERICSON: Thanks and Praise

Ericson performing at a Bboy event in downtown Minneapolis

On our first day in the United States, it was exhausting but it was also a new experience, a change in culture, big buildings, big cities and a good and new experience for everyone in our group.

In San Diego, we visited a really nice and humble family. The pastor and his wife received us with their arms wide open.

When we were in Davis, California, we visited a church where they had a lot of Mexicans and that church was really strong in the Lord. The pastor, his wife, and his kids gave us a lot of advice and a gift of a lot of blessings.

We also went to the New Life church in Sacramento. They were really generous because they gave each of us money and we helped with the community. It was really fun.

The second trip to the United States was when we went to Minnesota. There were really nice families waiting for us when we got there. It was a really nice experience because Gods plan was great and eight people in our group were baptised along with a lot of other people from the church. The people we performed for were accepting of Christ and it made me feel really happy because we were winning souls for Jesus.

The problems that we may face always have solutions and God always is with us. Everything is always in his hands and when we are with him, he will never leave us and he will always help us. He will move us and guide us.

The third tour took us to Richmond. This part of the USA was a huge blessing for us. There were a lot of happy families, happy because of our arrival. Also, they were happy and proud to have us with them. The people at the church had really good hearts.

We went to a Baptist church in Chicago that took us to a camp where we had a lot of fun. Video games, rides, water slides, and pools. It was a really pretty place, thank you for letting us have that great experience.

When we got back, we were visited an Assemblies of God church. We were there for two services and so we performed twice. The people there liked our praise and worship a lot.

When we went to the next church, Sezni was standing in front of one of the windows and he started peeing in front of it and the people where still in the service. Jed went to cover him because that was very embarrassing. He said, “Lets go walking to the other church and not wait for the transportation!”

Whilst in Chicago we were with both poor AND rich people. We did our CREATED performance for the people in Chicago and we won a lot of souls in churches and schools. We would invite people off of the street to come and see us perform. That city really was a blessing.

Right now we are in the house of a lovely family. Shane and Jenny and their kids take care of us really well and also everyone else that we have been with too. We are really thankful to all the people that have helped us and who we have stayed with, the people that have helped us with transportation, a place to stay and their love. Thank you!

POST by JOSE: Hit by a Bus

Ericson

Hello my name is Jose Ballardo and I am going to tell you a story about my friend Eric and how he witnessed a tragic death.

Eric had a friend named Marco. Now Marco was someone who liked to joke a lot but one day, he went to where his friends were at and asked them all a question. He asked, "What does it feel like to die?" Everyone said that they didn’t know and wondered aloud why he’d be asking them that. He responded with, "I don’t know" and then persisted with the question over the course of that whole day.

Later on Marco said "Goodbye everyone!" and when he said that to them, they all asked "Why are you saying goodbye?" He responded by saying, "I have a feeling that I am going to die so I want to say goodbye to you all."

The next day, Marcos woke up and got ready to go to school with his friend Luiz. His mum told him "Wait for me so that I can drop you off at school." However, Marcos said to his mother, "No it's okay. I can go on my own." With that he hugged and kissed her, and then headed off to school with Luiz.

Marcos and Luiz had passed halfway across a busy intersection, but before they could get across the second part of the street, the lights turned green. Luiz ran as hard as he could and made it across, yet Marcos didnt make it.

Whilst Marcos was running, a bus going full speed roared towards him. He was unable to avoid the bus, and whilst Marcos was almost out of the way, unfortunately his backpack got caught in the bus, causing it to pull him under the wheels.

Luiz was in shock from the event that occurred and then became distressed at seeing how the bus had run over Marcos, with his body going around in circles under the bus. Once the bus had driven past the accident site, Luis saw body parts belonging to Marcos all over the street. The feeling that Marcos had told everyone about dying, ended up coming true.

Luiz went running to his mum and he told her everything that had happened. When he finished telling her she couldn’t believe it and almost fainted. Luiz's mum went to Marcos' house and also told his mum what had happened.

Together they went to the place where Marcos had been killed. Marcos' mum picked up the remaining pieces of his destroyed body. The bus had already left but someone had called an ambulance and shortly after it arrived.

The ambulance took the body parts belonging to Marcos so that they could bury the remaining pieces.
Everyone that knew Marcos went to his funeral and they cried because they could not believe that he was dead.

It’s really important to pray to God all the time, especially when you are in doubt about something, because you never know what will happen.

God bless everyone and I hope you like my story.

POST by ERICSON: Disobedience and Death

Ericson and Jose, cooking up a storm in the Ohio Valley

This story is about Jose and was written by Ericson.

Rodrigo and I meet in school and we were really good friends, inseparable.

I studied with him all through primary (elementary) school and we grew up together like brothers. We looked after each other.

One day I went to his house to hang out for the whole day and mess around and have fun. We were playing together when we saw his mum faint. She had passed out on account of concerns that were troubling her. She shared these feelings with her son, but Rodrigo ignored his mother.

Rodrigo’s girlfriend came over later, inviting him to go with her to the beach. Of course he wanted to go and so he agreed to the plans.

We were both 10th grade high school students. One average Friday, Rodrigo told all of his classmates that he was going to the beach with his girlfriend and he explained that his mum didn’t want him to go because of the feelings she’d earlier. But he didn’t care and so the next day he went to the beach.

He was at the beach with his girlfriend and her family and her friends. They lit a bonfire in the evening and after they started to drink alcohol. He decided to go swimming in the surf, so he told his girlfriend to go with him and both of them went in. They were already out quite a way when he told his girlfriend that he was going to go in deeper.

When he had swum out to where the waves were breaking, a big wave overcame him and smashed him into some rocks. He didn’t come out.

Rodrigo’s girlfriend’s family had the difficult task of explaining to Rodrigo’s mother that he went into the water but never came out. Twenty four hours later, his body was found floating in the water, completely destroyed. His face was deformed, his body beaten and his eyes were no longer in his body. They took Rodrigo’s body to his mother.

The family held a funeral for his body and his mother told everyone, “He didn’t obey me.” His poor mother was brokenhearted along with the rest of his family.

This horrible tragedy occurred because Rodrigo didn’t obey the Bible, which tells us to honour our father and mother and our days on Earth will be long and prosperous.

POST by ERICSON: Guerra de Nicaragua

Ericson, the Luchadore

Nicaragua’s civil war resulted in my family losing all of their land and personal belongings.

In the year 1979, at the beginning of the war, my family lost their farm and cattle. It was all confiscated by the newly risen communist government. All of my country’s problems started because the president, Daniel Ortega, made bad decisions.

Daniel Ortega wanted to be a dictator over our country, but some of the people that lived in rural areas of Nicaragua objected, because the President wanted to take away all of their land and belongings, and give the possessions to our country.

My grandparents objected to the decisions made by President Ortega and because of the ongoing issues, decided to flee Nicaragua, becoming refugees in Honduras. They bribed border officials with items made out of gold, so that our family could cross over into Honduras.

President Ortega tried to recruit every Nicaraguan man and boy. He wanted to send them to war for the Sandinistas. Everyone who objected to the conscription was killed. It was for these reasons too, that my grandparents decided to leave Nicaragua with their children.

But in Honduras, farmers would recruit their own people and my grandfather joined the oppositional army. He was there for three months and then died.

After my grandfather died, my mother joined the army. She was sent into Nicaragua and she had an accident, tearing one of her hands. The army sent her back to Honduras.

My uncle joined the army as well and was there for just two months. He died also.

When the war ended, my mum and grandmother decided on returning to Nicaragua. They began a new chapter of their lives in their homeland. They started working at the markets selling vegetables and ironing other people’s clothes. They were quite the entrepreneurs, sending food to other towns.

They worked hard, and that is how they moved into the position of being able to buy their own house.

Thanks to God my mum did not die, or my siblings and I would not have been born. Thanks be to God, because all of my family work very hard.

Ericson at Minnesota's Assemblies of God Family Camp

POST by ERICSON: Deep Thinking

Ericson

I didn’t like listening to my friends’ problems, so I always asked them what they wanted to do when they grew up. Whenever I listened to their problems I always had problems after. One of my friends was the smart one, the other one was spoilt, but I was the one that was ignored the most because I went to Church.

One day I went to visit my friends and found them both naked, so I went away from them and later met up with them. I asked them what they wanted for their future? They both replied “I don’t know.” Then I asked them if they were happy. They answered “no.” We began to think about our lives and I decided I wanted to be a chef and a servant of God.

So first I give thanks to God as I am serving him and my friends are too. Now my uncle is also giving me an opportunity to be a cook.

Sometimes my friends and I meet up at night to watch the stars, now that we are all together again. We say how beautiful it is that God gave us what we needed in the World and we didn’t get lost. Now I am blessed with victory.

I have suffered a lot in my childhood, but God was always with me and God always kept me on the right path. A lot of times I felt how good it is to be serving in this world and not falling into depression. It is always good to know that there is someone by my side.

Some people ask themselves what they want to be when they grow older, and some people try to commit suicide. But God told me through the Bible “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” He told me that he has a home a LOT bigger for me in Heaven. That made me really happy. Now God controls where I go.

Thanks for reading about my thoughts and life.
