in September with the recently created Hong Kong-based HK Nicaragua Canal
Development Investment Co to finance and build a canal linking the Caribbean
Sea and the Pacific Ocean - a dream long cherished by Managua.

Economy: Nicaragua Courts Chinese Telecom Giants
Nicaragua now has 4.2 million mobile phones in circulation in a country
of nearly 6 million people—an increase of 275% in cellphone use in the past six
years. In the rural countryside, more people have access to cellphones than
electricity.
