Following
last year’s presidential elections, the OAS raised
concerns about
various “anomalies” and “difficulties” encountered by the observation team on
Election Day. OAS mission director Dante Caputo said Nicaragua’s entire
electoral system has “structural failings” that “need to be revised urgently.”
