Nicaraguan Police today forcibly removed a group of
ex-Sandinista soldiers who attempted to occupy Managua’s Augusto Sandino
International Airport in protest of the government’s failure to comply with a
series of aging promises for land, pensions and healthcare. The former
soldiers were reportedly marching towards the airport when they were
intercepted by police in front of the airport, leading to a rock fight.
