This was the hole they had made to get in and out of our property |
Playtime at the orphanage |
Looking for the plate also changed us, we realised that it's not all about stuff, even though we were disappointed, but that day we realised that we had allowed this stuff to get in the way of what was really important... Jed suddenly yelled out, "come on, let's go to the orphanage" so the night we were robbed we all just shut the door, jumped in the car and went up to the orphanage.
Sezni daily pours into Billy, he loves teaching him how to play, read and have fun. |
When we arrived it was chaos! All the babies were sick with the flu, and the two volunteer workers were exhausted. We all set to work, feeding, bathtime, reading, singing, dishing out medicine - it was beautiful to watch our own kids rising above their own disappointment at losing their precious toys and clothes, and joyfully helping out.
This night was the first night we all met Billy. He was very sick with a heavy cold and needed to be rocked to sleep and just loved on. We all took turns wiping his running nose, and patting him on the back to ease the coughing. We stifled chuckles as he snored on like a farm tractor. As we drove home that night, we all chatted on about how precious all the kids are, and how we knew as a family this is what we were called to do also, and our conversation kept going back to Billý.
In January, Billy came to stay with our family - we just adore him x

We were wondering how the kids would handle having Billy enter our family. I told Raf he was still my baby, and he said "nah Mum, I don´t want to be the baby, I want Billy to be that now" |
